Esther: The Brave Queen Who Saved Her People

Once upon a time, in a faraway land filled with sparkling deserts and towering palaces, lived a kind and brave girl named Esther. Esther didn’t live in an ordinary house; she lived with her cousin Mordecai, who was like a father to her, after her real parents were gone.

One sunny day, a messenger arrived at their doorstep with incredible news! The king of the land, King Ahasuerus, was throwing a giant party and searching for a new queen! Many girls from all over the kingdom were invited, including Esther.

Esther was a bit scared, but Mordecai reminded her, “Be brave, Esther. You never know what amazing things God might have planned for you.”

At the palace, Esther met all sorts of girls. Some bragged about their fancy clothes, while others practiced their dancing. Esther, however, just focused on being kind and helpful to everyone.

The king’s servants pampered the girls with beautiful dresses, delicious food, and special treatments. But Esther never forgot what Mordecai had said. She listened carefully to the wise women who taught them manners and how to care for themselves.

Finally, the day arrived for the girls to meet the king! One by one, they entered the grand hall, nervous but hopeful. When it was Esther’s turn, she took a deep breath and walked in with a smile. The king was impressed by her kindness and beauty, and he chose Esther to be his queen!

Even though she was a queen, Esther never forgot her promise to Mordecai. She kept her Jewish faith a secret, just like he had asked. However, there was a man named Haman who disliked Mordecai and all the Jewish people. Haman convinced the king to make a terrible decree—a law that would allow Haman to hurt all the Jewish people, including Esther!

Esther was heartbroken. But Mordecai knew they couldn’t stay silent. He told Esther, “Even though you are a queen, God has placed you there for a reason. You must speak up for your people!”

Esther knew it was dangerous to defy the king, but she also knew it was the right thing to do. With a deep breath and a prayer in her heart, Esther decided to take a risk.

She invited the king and Haman to a special dinner, a secret chance to tell the truth. During the dinner, Esther revealed her own faith and Haman’s evil plot. The king was furious with Haman for his lies and for wanting to hurt innocent people.

Because of Esther’s bravery, the king stopped Haman’s evil plan and saved the Jewish people! Esther became a hero, not just for her beauty, but also for her courage and kindness.

This story teaches us that even when we feel small or scared, God can use us to do great things. Just like Esther, we can be brave and stand up for what’s right, no matter how difficult it seems. Remember, with God’s help, we can all be heroes in our own special way.
