Christian Poem: By His Wounds: A Song of Redemption and Healing
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)
Upon the cross, the Savior hung,
The weight of sin upon His frame.
The hands that formed the stars and seas
Were pierced for us, to bear our shame.
No crown of gold adorned His brow,
But thorns, a cruel and mocking sign.
Yet in His pain, His love shone bright—
A sacrifice so divine.
He bore our sins, our guilt, our pain,
The stripes upon His back our healing gained.
The Lamb of God, so pure, so true,
For us, the broken, was slain.
Oh, sacred wounds, oh precious blood,
That flowed to cleanse our guilty stain.
By His stripes, we are made whole,
Redeemed, restored, and free again.
No longer bound by sin’s dark chains,
We rise to walk in righteousness.
For He who died now lives in us,
Our hope, our peace, our blessedness.
So let us live for Him who gave
His all upon that rugged tree.
In gratitude, let hearts proclaim:
“By His wounds, I am set free!”
